Throwback Thursday

In regards to the recent movie release of the late Biggie Smalls "Notorious" I figured this was the appropriate pick for "Throwback" Thursday.

Lets take it back to 97'...

Notorious B.I.G - Sky's The Limit

(3:45)

"If the game shakes me or breaks me I hope it makes me a better man
Take a better stand

Put money in my moms hand

Get my daughter this college grands, so she don't need no mans
Stay far from timid

Only make moves when ya hearts in it

And live the phrase sky's the limit" Notorious B.I.G - Sky's the limit

Sloppy Saturday "I Rap Now" Edition

"Famous"
came by my school last week and handed out pamphlets to raise awareness for his new EP entitled "IRAPNOW". He approached me and said "hey I'm a rapper come by the site and support some real hip hop" I replied "ha ha yea me too man" thinking that this man was nothing but a joke. I approached him after and handed him a link for "Brewrhymeswithcrew" and told him to stop by so I could set up an interview. I guess my blog wasn't good enough because so far he is a no show. Anyway, I went by his site and sure enough this man has lots of potential and is working his way up to stardom.

Hailing from Toronto Canada it appears Famous has been doing some big things. I find it hard to believe he slipped by me during 2008 because he even released a track with Canada's favourite Kardinal Offisshall.

Im feeling this joint right here.
Dont hate him because he "rhymes different".

Jay-Z "In My Lifetime(Remix)"(1995)

(1:11)
"I bought a black Mac, I'm outta control
Losin bankrolls on blackjack, you gotta know
it always crossed my mind that Feds be tappin the lines like Gregory Hines
Still on the phone discussin my biz like it could never be mines
I know the price, know the risk, know the wrongs, and the rights
Still my blood flows ice, it's just my life" Jay Z - In My Lifetime

"Tick Tock" Tuesday

Its Tuesday and the clock is ticking...

Exile- Radio

Exile- "Radio"
January 20th 2009
www.myspace.com/alexile

Exile is a talented producer who has overtime learned to play numerous instruments. His talent has shined all over the hip hop scene but was first witnessed when he did an album with Aloe Blacc. Travis from WYDU has mentioned in his previous posts that he was a fan of exile before Blu's "Below the heavens" hype started. Without sounding like a copy cat, the same goes for me. When I first started finding outlets to the underground scene one of the first of many albums I was able to get my hands on was Emanon (aloe blacc + exile) "The Waiting Room". That album had plenty of rotation in my Sony disc man back in 05'. As much as I like Aloe Blacc as a Lyricist I'm pretty sure it was Exiles production that reeled me in. Long story short, Ive been a fan of Exile ever since and I'm happy to announce that hes got another one coming. Exactly one week from today Exile will release to my knowledge his 2nd solo effort entitled "Radio". I don't have a track list for this one yet so I'm not sure if they're will be any guest features. What I do know however is that Exile created this album entirely from sampling Los Angeles AM/FM airwaves. Isn't that crazy? Exile has been known to be creative before but damn, now hes reached the pinnacle. I cant wait to hear it and I recommend everyone who is a true head out there check this one out when it releases.

The clock is ticking...

Diamond D - The Hiatus

(2:52)
"I'm tryin to eat lunch with Russell, flex my muscle
While your busy bitchy, my record label doesn't hustle
Enough for me, it's tough to be in the spot light
You froze under the hot light, and wonder why your pockets not right" -Diamond D - The Hiatus

Sloppy Saturday "Cougar" edition

Yes! The first edition of "Sloppy Saturdays". Heres whats in store today. Freddie Joachim put together yet another great compilation of his finest instrumentals. He caught a lot of flack for his last free instrumental cover so this time he came with an astonishing more subtle approach. Freddie decided to call this one "cougar". Now when I think of the word "cougar" usually an image like this comes to mind ...

*Stiflers Mom* gets her "cougar" on in this famous scene from American Pie..

I guess our man Freddie had other things on his mind at the time. If he ever decided to release a "Cougar" instrumentals vol 2 he could add this image to his list of profound cover pics...

Anyway, all jokes aside this one is dope. Make sure you grab it while it lasts.
